Layout for “Brilliant Decoration”

Layout for “Brilliant Decoration”

The fourth step is called “Brilliant Decoration” at Mixed Media & Art.
The last challenge in this wonderful competition. I had a blast challenge myself doing the different steps, and my goal
was to create something different each time.

In the end of this post you’ll find all my creations for the four challenges.

For this step the challenge was to use:

Bijouterie – no scrap material
Shine – in any form

For the Bijouterie I found a necklace with big links – like a chain. I cut it so I had a piece good enough for my art. And the shine… yeah, I think it’s in lots of places… bling, wax, metal, acrylics… they all shine!

Stamps:  Stampendous
Sentence: Tim Holtz Stickers
Papers: Prima
Embellishments: Cheesecloth, Flowers (Prima), Necklace, Bling, Chipboard (SnipArt), Die cuts (Prima)
Tools: Stencil (SnipArt), net for walls
Medium: White crackle paint, Wax (Prima),
Colors: Mists (Tattered Angels, Ranger), Acrylics (Finnabair/Prima)

And this is my four projects for this challenge in total:

Canvas for the “Breath of Nature”

Canvas for the “Breath of Nature”

The third challenge at Mixed Media & Art is called Breath of Nature.
This time you need to have these things on your piece of art:

Natural materials – no scrap material
Letters – in any form

The first one is a bit more tricky then you can thought from start. Especially if the nature is rainy and wet… I had some ideas but had to change my mind when getting out there… and it ended up with grabbing some small sticks. I had to dry them though in our boilder room so I could use them!

So, my project this time became a canvas!

This is while painting the sticks with white Gesso…

Sentence: Chipboard (Snip Art), Sticker (Tim H)
Embellishments: Nature Sticks, Art Stones, Cheesecloth, Polishing Tangle, Jute string, thread
Tools: Cloud stencil (Dutch Dobadoo)
Medium: Gesso, White Crackle medium, Gel Medium, Wax (Prima)
Colors: Acrylic Sparkles (Prima), Rainbow Ink (13 arts), Magical shakers (Lindy’s Gang)

Glass Bottle for “Crystal Beauty” Challenge

Glass Bottle for “Crystal Beauty” Challenge

This is the 2nd part of the challenge over at Mixed Media & Art.
This time it’s about transparency and circles.

So the 2 stage you must use:
Transparent Material – NOT from Scrapbooking
Circles – in any form

And this is the way I made my art:

A deorated old glass bottle. I started with a layer of white crackle paint at the place where I wanted to put my flowers etc. Then filled up with lots of cheesecloth and build up the flower cluster. Circles are added as stamped images colored with watercolor paint. I cut them out and used as decoration under the flowers and two glued back to back – one big and one smaller – for the tag with the words.
