Late player, but today I finally got some time so I finished all the challenges at once. Lots of fun inside while the snow is fluttering around on the outside. Just perfect!
I’ve made something for all four challenges at the MFT Creative Olympics, and here they are:
Event 1 – Stamping Slalom
(Create one card that includes at least three separate stamp sets — any three MFT sets in your collection!)
Cat, Giraffe and Roaster are all from different sets, and the word Birthday are from a fourth set (one with birthday bears).
Event 2 – Freestyle
(Create one card in any style with one exception – it has to have a winter theme!)
And my card for this one looks like this:
I don’t have much stamps with winter theme (yet) and I didn’t feel to use my santas… so I made up this scene with houses and the polar bear peeking from behind. Background is made with watercolors and I’ve used the dotted die for snow flakes.
And with the fact that we have polar bears walking the streets here in Sweden (fake facts) the card become kind of perfect… lol.
Event 3 – Crafty Biathlon
This one was a bit more tricky… you had to pick one from each column and use both on your card! Phew!
I picked Masking & Slider.
My bunnies are masked together and the turtle slides.
Since I don’t have a slider die, I’ve used one of the fish-tail banners for this, same as I’ve used for the words below the turtle. The package is from the birthday bears, I’ve just cutted the lid off, and cut away the bear inside, and put it together like an unopened present.
Somehow (duh) the patterned paper went upside down… and it looked a bit funny with the hearts upside down. I didn’t want to waste my paper so I used a light green distress oxide and swiped over the paper to color the hearts too! All green = grass instead of hearts. *smile*
Aaaand, I realised after uploading this one that the frog… uhum… run away from the card…. LOL… TOAD-ally logical!
Event 4 – Speed Cardmaking
(Grab your phone, set your stove timer or have one of you family members watch the clock – you have exactly 20 minutes to complete a card from start to finish. It can be any theme and use any MFT products – this event is all about speed.)
And THAT is a challenge that fits me well! I use to put together cards pretty fast when I’m on the run… With almost a minute left I crossed the finish line. I embossed my background in white, and used distress oxide to coloring it. Fast and easy blended. Speed coloring for the pig and fence and a quick die cutting for the words and it was done. YEAH!
