Lots and lots of photos today of the process of this mixed media piece.
It all started with some odd cutlery we had at or own flea market. I seen someone making cool stuff with a spoon etc, so I thought, why not use them all!
First layer is Glue, Beads, Punchinella, Cheesecloth, paper, net and probably something more I can’t remember now. Then covered with white gesso. The Cutlery is glued with 3d Glossy Gel.
Then I needed some flowers… so I used what I found, and happily some large ones!
Then cover it all with gesso – again.
Close up of structure.
Added chipboard from SnipArt.
And now the fun part – colours! Mists from Tattered Angels and Dylusions. Pigment powder (rainbow colors) from 13arts.
The cutlery is painted with Prima Color Bloom Gold Foil mist. (it’s more gold-ish in real life then this pictures)
And after I thought I was finished the first time I changed my mind and added some more colors (Rainbow colors 13arts) for extra contrast. Dots are splashed gesso mixed with some water to get it more liquid-ish.
Words from Tim Holtz.
