At our small crop this weekend one of the girls had a challenge for us. The challenge was to make something in turquoise and use glitter. I went all in for both. LOL.

På helgens träff så överraskade Katja oss med en liten tävling. Kravet var att skapa något i turkost och strössla glitter. Jag gick visst lite bananas på båda kraven, men det lönade sig oxå. Efter en liten omröstning visade det sig nämligen att jag vann. Stort TACK för det fina priset Katja gav mig.
Egentligen vet jag knappt vad jag gjorde, men det blev många lager, mycket glitter och saker som blänkte och en del färg. Sen att det tog mer eller mindre hela dagen för att få allt torrt är ju en annan femma… haha.

It’s saturday and we have a challenge for you over at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!
Here is my card with the shrinked flowers as I promised monday when I had my Shrink Plastic tutorial. This is what it become. I added a small ring to all the flowers (as I made holes in them), and then placed them on green sewing thread and put on my card. A small dot of glue behind every flower to hold them in place.

Som jag utlovade i måndags när jag visade min tutorial på Krymmplast så har ni här mitt kort som jag gjorde sedan. Eftersom jag gjorde hål i alla blommor kunde jag sätta i en ring och sedan trädde jag upp dom på grön sytråd som jag vek fyrdubbel. För att hålla blommorna på plats så sitter en liten limdutt bakom varje blomma.

ENG: Hi! Today I have made a tutorial about Shrink plastic for Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps.
It’s a fun and easy way to do tiny decorations matching your stamped image!
You’ll find shrink plastic in different colors, but I think most common is white, clear and black. I’ve used white in my tutorial.
SWE: Hejsan! Idag har jag gjort en tutorial om krympplast för Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps.
Krympplast finns i många olika färger, men jag tror dom vanligaste är vit, transparent och svart. Jag har använt vit i min tutorial.
ENG: First – sand paper your shrink plastic. Especially if it’s really blank. Sand in a criss cross pattern. When you do this it’s easier to get the colors stuck on the plastic if you would like to paint it. As the plastic shrinks LOTS you won’t notice these scratches when you are ready. Sometimes you can find shrink plastic that are pre sanded.
SWE: Börja med att sandpappra ditt krympplastark åt båda håll (korsmönster). Om man sandpapprar så är det oftast lättare att få färgen att fästa på plasten, speciellt om det är en mycket blank yta från början. Vissa krympplastark kan faktiskt vara sandpapprade från början när man köper dom. Du kommer inte märka av reporna eftersom det krymper massor sedan.
ENG: Stamp your images! StazOn is one of the best ink pads for this, as it dries fast even on plastic. But note – if you want to use solvent based pens or markers to color your image, those will also solve the black line so be careful.
SWE: Stämpla dina motiv med StazOn på krympplasten. Den torkar fort även på plast. OBS! Vill du färglägga med alkoholbaserade pennor så tänk på att dessa löser upp stämpellinjerna om du använt StazOn. Man får vara extra försiktig eller trixa lite med en annan dyna eller andra pennor.
ENG: I decided to go for a bunch of flowers too.
SWE: Jag drog till med att stämpla en bunt blommor oxå.
ENG: Fuzzy cut your images. As it shrinks, the white area around it also shrinks so you don’t have to be pitty.
SWE: Klipp ut motiven du stämplat. Du behöver inte vara petig, eftersom även det vita runtom krymper.
ENG: All cutted out.
SWE: Allt urklippt.
ENG: I colored mine with my polychromos pencils.
SWE: Jag färglade med polychromos pennor.
ENG: If you want to hang them up – do holes. And make those bigger then you think looks nice – as the holes also shrinks!
SWE: Om du vill kunna hänga upp dina dekorationer så gör hål i dom nu. Ett hett tips är att göra mycket större hål än du tror och tycker är snyggt, hålet krymper nämligen oxå.
ENG: Use something that can take heat to hold your pice in place when you are going to shrink it. The pink underneith here are a heat mat, so it can take the heat. Make sure you don’t burn something.
SWE: Använd något som du kan hålla fast din bit med. Den rosa mattan jag har under här är en sån som tål värme (typ teflon-bakplåtspapper fast för pyssel). Se upp så du inte bränner något utan använd ett underlag som tål värme.
ENG: A short video showing how fast the piece shrinks if you use your heat tool. The instructions often say you shall use the owen, but this is much faster and you don’t forget about your pieces.
Watch your fingers!
When it shrinks it also curls – don’t worry! Let it be, and continue to heat until it shrinken as much as it can. Then stop the heating.
If the piece is a bit warped just press a acrylic handle on top of it right away when it’s still warm. There you go – shrinked and ready.

ENG: Lots of shrinked pieces! To tell you the secret… my camera went crazy and the first photos was gone, and so was the video. Had to do everything twice!

Jag har färglagt mitt motiv med min “snabba variant” som jag kallar den. Planerat men ändå måste det göras utan att tänka för mycket, för då fastnar man bara. Håll koll på skuggsidan och solsidan och sedan är det bara att rocka loss. Blir målning med lite frihetskänsla att man kan göra preciiiis som man vill, haha.
